About
This website is a celebration of being ginger – flaming redheads, copper tones, strawberry blondes, ginger beards, pasty skin and join-the-dot freckles, you’re all welcome here.
It’s time to stand up and be proud to be ginger. Yes, we make up a mere 1-2% of the world’s population but that gives us the edge of being an endangered species. And what happens to endangered species? – they get protected, treated like they’re special and everyone LOVES them. Since that isn’t just happening any time soon, lets learn to love ourselves. It’s time for us as a sub culture, to start embracing the flaming deliciousness we have that makes us unique. I want to harvest ginger solidarity, invest in an appreciation of a special and rare group of people and bring us closer as a community.
‘I am ginger’ will bring you news on redhead celebrities, articles on how it feels to be ginger, and outing the haters that say nasty things about us.
If you are a proud ginger and would like to be part of the ginger gallery please email me your photo to sarah@iamginger.co.nz
About me: I’m ginger kiwi female living ‘down under’ in Auckland, New Zealand, far, far away from the rest of my ginger clan. If the percentage worldwide of gingers is 1-2% then it’s probably .2% here. The sun’s really fierce in New Zealand and I spend a lot of time in Summer looking for shade. I have a regular life – work, family etc but my passion is my website and I hope you find it entertaining!

well done Sarah, I’m so proud of you and blessed to be your aging ginger Uncle.
