Ginger from Gilligan’s Island
Ginger was the gorgeous redhead movie star from ‘Gilligan’s Island’, a slapstick comedy from the 60’s. She was one of a group of mismatched castaways from all walks of life, stranded when their ship sank, on an unchartered island. Their adventures involved bungled efforts to escape and get back to civilisation. Ginger provided the charm, sex appeal and sensuality to the cast as well as being high maintenance. Was Ginger the catalyst for redheads to be fondly nicknamed gingers?
