Partridge Family

The Partridge Family was one of the most beloved TV sitcoms of the 70’s and had the highest ratio of gingers ever cast together in one show. It depicted the life and adventures of a wholesome family musical act that suddenly got their big break and shot to top 40 success after their single Mom joined the band. They travelled around in their colourfully painted tour bus with their cranky band manager Rueben Kincaid.

The eldest son was played by David Cassidy, who was the heart throb of the moment and he certainly helped escalate the show’s popularity.

Danny Partridge (played by child star Danny Bonaduce) was the most memorable character for his intense copper top and cheeky comedic acting. Behind the scenes, Danny was drinking, smoking and taking drugs by the time the showed finished when he was only 15. He was homeless after the TV series ended, living behind a dumpster in Hollywood. After decades of drugs and alcohol abuse and a slew of arrests – including in 1991 for allegedly beating a transvestite prostitute – Bonaduce found sobriety.

And he has forged a second career for himself as a radio host. He is currently the morning talk show host on Seattle’s KZOK-FM, a classic rock station.
