Love ginger men?
My sister is a statistical anomaly. She isn’t lucky enough to have red hair but she loves red headed men. She has had an unbelievable total of 3 red headed boyfriends and even married one of them. Our favourite ginger film maker Scott P. Harris (Being Ginger) wants to know how to find someone like my sister. In his hilariously funny documentary he laments that everyone claims to have a friend that loves ginger men and yet he’s never met one of them – they are a myth, a whisper in the wind, a shadow in the dark, the Loch Ness monster of ginger lovers. But no, my sister’s love for ginger men is real and my ginger brother in law thinks he’s the luckiest man alive.
We know a lot of men fantasise over red headed women. I inadvertently met a few of them on a ginger FB site ‘Gorgeous Redheads of Facebook and the Men/Women Who Love Them!’ I became suspicious that this wasn’t just a friendly red head community site when all the men wanting to friend me seemed to be bearded American truckies. I’m not looking for love, I’m genuinely trying to connect with my fellow gingers.
The lusting over red heads just doesn’t seem to work in the opposite direction. Red headed men are generally not seen to be the object of women’s lust. Times are changing though and there seems to be a shift in ginger popularity with more ginger actors, musicians and royalty. It really would have helped if they could have cast Christian Grey as a redhead! 50 Shades of Ginger would have been far more tantalising.

I’m a ginger woman who lives ginger men, but none of them seem to be interested in me.
Get yourself over to one of the redhead festivals in Europe. You will meet so many ginger men!
Yeah, Redhead Days in Breda, The Netherlands. I’m going from Michigan for the third term this September. So much fun!
