Oh Happy Days

“I found my thrill … on Blueberry Hill”…cue Richie Cunningham, a quintessential example of a squeaky clean, all-American, 1950s teenager from the sitcom Happy Days. Richie was cute with his ginger hair and gap between his teeth but he had no luck with the ladies. Happy Days made for happy days of television viewing with safe, stereotypical characters (goofball friends, neurotic parents) with the exception of The Fonz (who got all the ladies).
If you are too young to remember the sitcom Happy Days, you may still recognise Ron Howard (now sans hair) – famous director of A Beautiful Mind (for which he won the Academy Award for Best Director), Cinderella Man, The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, and Rush.
